The City of Delray Beach Water Services Department is delighted to announce that it has received an Honorable Mention in the Best Web Resource category from the 2021 Outstanding Awards Program of the Florida Municipal Communicators Association (FMCA). The FMCA Rewards Program is an annual program that highlights innovative projects cities are working on throughout the year.
In January 2021, in an effort to be more transparent with the City’s 70,000 residents and stakeholders, City staff launched a major new section on the City’s website titled “City Water”. With 20 stand-alone pages, the “City Water” section of the website provides educational information on the City’s drinking water and water harvesting systems.
“We are honored to receive an honorable mention from the FMCA,” said Hassan Hadjimiry, director of public services. “The City Water section of our website is a popular resource that is regularly updated with timely information to keep our residents and stakeholders informed of one of our most important utilities. “
Based on information relating to drinking water, the water source, the treatment and monitoring and maintenance of water reservoirs, the City’s water section of its website offers viewers a full overview. It also includes videos which provide more detailed information.
