If you don’t have time to visit a bank branch or stand in long queues to take advantage of internet banking services, State Bank of India (SBI) offers its customers the option to register. online from the comfort of their own homes.
Previously, to benefit from the Net banking facility, customers had to go to the bank branch, fill out a form and submit documents to activate the facility.
SBI customers with at least one account can register online for Internet banking service.
Steps to register online for SBI Internet Banking:
Step 1: Visit the official SBI website and navigate to the “personal banking” section on the home page.
2nd step: Select the “New User Registration” link. Then click on ‘Next’ to continue with the registration.
Step 3: You will need to enter the CIF number and branch code which are available in the passbook or statement of account.
Step 4: Select the country and enter the mobile number registered with the agency.
Step 5: Now you can select the online banking facility according to your needs – Full or Limited Transaction Rights / Viewing Rights
Step 6: Enter the Captcha code and press “Send”.
Step 7: If you have an ATM card, you can select the option “ATM Card” and click on “Submit”. This way you can complete the registration and activate Internet banking for your account.
Step 8: If you do not have an ATM card, Internet banking services will be activated by the branch.
Step 9: The customer will then be redirected to the debit card validation page and asked to validate the ATM credentials. Enter your card details and press “Proceed”
Step 10: You will be asked to generate a username and create a login password. Click on ‘Send’.
After following this procedure, your registration will be successful.
Point to note: Once the registration is complete and successful, the customer is advised to log into Internet banking services with the permanent username and password.
