The main area of ​​focus of MAG’s programs in West Africa is Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM), working with national defense and security authorities for safe storage, management and destruction. weapons and ammunition safety.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join MAG’s growing global security team. MAG is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Security Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the consistent application, management and monitoring of MAG’s Security Management Framework across all of our programs in the Sahel and in west Africa. Reporting to the Regional Security Manager, you will be based in Burkina Faso and travel to country programs to provide MAG programs in the region with access to quality security information and analysis, training and expert support the implementation of policies, standards and procedures. You will conduct assessments, training and audit program security. You will support the Regional Security Manager in the consistent application of a security management framework to enable MAG to meet its due diligence obligations in accordance with the global security policy and standard operating procedures. You will develop and facilitate relationships between MAG and the other stakeholders we work with (national and local government, other humanitarian mine action actors, aid agencies and other security personnel).

About you:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in security management in the West African region and should be proficient in violent attack techniques, planning and execution of safety and security protection , intelligence assessment, modern security equipment and first-hand knowledge. security management issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure and not lose sight of strategic priorities are essential for this role.
